Birdie Tweets

Rehearsals are going swimmingly...I don't have much else to say. I just really wanted to use the word "swimmingly."

Everyone has really hit the ground running and I think it's going to be a really exciting revival. The few changes and surprises being made are all in an effort to make the show more genuine and relevant. I'm really happy with the way things are coming to life. It's nice to see these characters in a way I never have before.

Wait until you see this teen ensemble. They will blow you away. These kids (yes...KIDS) are so talented.

Allie Trimm is remarkable as Kim and I cannot wait to see everything she brings to the role. It's been wonderful working with the cast and crew so far. The whole experience has been sweet and entirely unique. I wish I could tell you all of the wonderful things our creative team is doing with numbers like "Telephone Hour" and "Lot of Livin," but you'll just have to wait until September 10th when previews start!

Has anyone walked by the new Henry Miller Theatre yet? It's really absurd how beautiful it is.

Lately, I have been making an effort to be more available on the Internet. I've really loved opening the comments back up on this blog.

Today...I started a Twitter account. Yes. It's true. I'm horrified.

I think I'll take it slow at first. In the spirit of Bye Bye Birdie (har har) and the fact that find Blake Daniel's very entertaining, I'm giving it a shot.

So, get your twitter twatty tweeting tweets on and I'll twit away and tweet along with the twats...cool?

It's Twitter.com/mattfdoyle. Yes, there's an f. There are many Matt Doyles out there.

There might be a lot Matt Doyles out there, but I doubt any of them are as cool a guy as you. I'm so excited to see the BBB revival and you back on Broadway.

I'm sure you'll do a fine job tweeting!

=O Wow! I NEVER thought you would give in! But I'm glad you have!

Just a heads up (since it took a rather long time for some of your former coworkers to figure out), on the sidebar there is a link to your "@replies", where you can see when other people, including ones you aren't following, respond to your tweets. That'll be fun!

I'm SO excited for BBB!!! I think I'm going up with my friend for her birthday... hopefully that'll work out! Also congrats on the twitter, i'll definitely be following you, i'm totally addicted. And I agree about Blake Daniels, his tweets are endlessly entertaining.

Off to work on some summer reading so I can have it done in time to go see your show on the 17th!!! Can't wait!

It just boggles my mind at how fast Broadway shows seem to come together. I realize that there's probably months/years of planning and negotiation and stuff that we don't see behind the scenes, but to go from nothing to a real show in front of people in a month or two will never cease to impress me.

PS, I'm horrified as well that you've succumbed to the Twitterocalypse (but only mildly bothered by the puns :p) :x

Ugh, I thought Twitter was the most ridiculous thing ever when my Digital Media professor told us to start tweeting for an assignment.

It's been two years and I haven't stopped.

Also, I spent like five minutes trying to conjugate "twat" before I remembered it was a noun. For ladyparts. And I don't think that works with Twitter. There's a reason it's not called Vaginarer.com. :/

Um. Yeah. HAVE FUN WITH BBB -- you and the amazing cast will be great! I'm following John Stamos on Twitter too, and it's adorable how excited he seems. :)

With the "f" in there, I keep reading it as "Matt Fucking Doyle". :D

Will one of the changes in BBB be that you get to sing? That would be most excellent, although either way I'm looking forward to the show!

Well, I for one think you should start vlogging. Do youtube stuff and the like. I believe that it would be pretty magnificent. And you should most definitely visit wisconsin, just for kicks and traveling experience and gracing me with your wonderful presence. And this comment will be over soon. Good luck with Bye Bye Birdie. Rock the houuuse.

I agree with Jaymee... about the Twat thing. That actually made me laugh. Wow, that was funny.

Now I'm debating whether to twit, twat, etc. LOL! maybe because your doing it, and someone mentioned Blake Daniel's twat, i mean Twits as being entertaining.
