Busy, busy, busy
So, I'm sure you could all see that there has been quite a lack of updates lately. Trust me, I would love to write every other day, but I'm a bit busy lately preparing for next saturday and other events coming. More posts to come. As soon as I have time this week or after the 14th, I will write a few overdue entries. Thanks!
Matt

Matt-
Just wanted to say hi! I was an intern at SPF last summer on Hitting the Wall with Leigh Dugan...don't know if you remember me hehe; I'm sure it's been a busy year. I emailed you a couple weeks ago saying congrats on SA- hope you got it. Anyway, funny enough my Aunt and Uncle are coming to see this Saturday's matinee so I told them you'd be in. Very exciting! I'm interning again this summer, this time for a producer, and I'd love to catch up and see an SPF show if you can! Send me an email. Congrats again on the show!
Best,
Erika Gould

Hope the performance as Melchior went well!
Hey Matt,
You most likely will not remember me, but I got to see Spring Awakening for the first time at the matinee on Saturday, July 14th. I'm so glad I got to see you perform! It was the first time I got to see the original cast of a Broadway show, so I was looking forward to seeing all of the cast members after watching their awesome performance at the Tonys. But the minute you walked out on stage, I was no longer the least disappointed and knew I was in for an awesome performance! In just the first few minutes, you defended the character of Moritz against the teacher with pride and confidence, and you sang your heart out!
I had no idea it was your first time as Melchior, so congrats!! If you were nervous, it certainly didn't show--you were a natural in that role! I wish that if I went to see it another time that I could see you performing that character again. You had me tearing up at Moritz's funeral scene, and my heart was just breaking into pieces in the scene at the graveyard with you, John Gallagher, and Lea Michele. The audience was loving it! I mean, in "Totally Fucked," no one, me included, had the intension of ceasing their applause until the music started to kick in again! (I wondered how long you guys could hold that final pose, b/c it seemed like the clapping would never end, at least mine wouldn't :). I wish that I could have actually talked with you after the show, but I knew you had to save your voice for your next stellar performance that night, which I'm certain was nothing short of awesome and (that it definitely gave Jonathan Groff a run for his money :).
Anyway, I was so amazing to meet you and the rest of the cast in person after the show! (i've never done that before!) All of you were so kind and down to earth, which impressed me greatly. I love how you were still a normal everyday person when I talked to you. Like you, my passion is for acting, Broadway in particular, so I loved seeing your excitement for the stage when you met all your well-deserved fans. I encourage you to always keep that "down to earth" quality so that people will only admire and appreciate your God-given talent all the more. I'm so glad He gave me the opportunity to see you in person!!
Never forget how truly blessed you are, Matt. I would give practically anything just to be an ensemble member of a Broadway show as awe-inspiring as Spring Awakening, even if it was only for one fantastic performance. You have great talent and passion for what you're doing, so never let anyone belittle your great contribution to the world of the Broadway stage.
I wish you the best of luck in everything you do. (And I sincerely hope you read this and that it will mean something.) God has great plans for you, I know it, and I hope to see you again someday!! Thanks for an unforgettable day that will always be treasured in my heart as one of the greatest experiences of my life.
One day, I'll meet you again onstage and perform side by side with you in yet another great Broadway show--I'm looking forward to it with growing enthusiasm!!!!
Love Always~Shelby Fite
You were amazingly stellar during the Saturday evening show on July 14th. I was just overwhelmed with how well you brought Melchior to life. Congratulations!
