I am thankful to have learned.

I have learned so much this past year. Looking back, I cannot believe how naive I was. I cannot conceive how naive I still must be. This career choice has proven to be wonderfully insane. The ups and downs in one day alone, are enough to make your head spin. I haven't done everything right this past year, but those mistakes always made me smile eventually. I was still experiencing. Negative or not, they were mistakes I could only dream about experiencing. So much good comes out of pursuing what you believe to be right for yourself. So many questions you never even thought you had are answered. Love and passion are the greatest and cruelest guides in life. Where they have lead me is irreplaceable. I couldn't ask for anything else. I look back at my own posts in this blog and I am astonished by the journey. Even now, during this strike, I have discovered how important the beautiful commotion is for me. I need it to be non-stop. I want to be exhausted! I love what I do. Absoloutely adore it, every part of it. I want to come up on the end of the year and just be happy that I did everything I could have done, right or wrong!

"It looks like you took the right road." People keep saying to me. I no longer believe that there is a "right road" at all. For me at least, things are hardly that linear. There is just life.

I am thankful to have lived.

This morning I got a horrifying phone call telling me that most of broadway will remain shut down for the next week due to the strike. It's upsetting for all of us at Spring Awakening. The strike continuing is a terrible thing, not only for our show, but for the entire Broadway community. I pray that the issues at hand will be resolved soon. Until then, all we can do is support each other and hope that we will return to work soon.

The lights are dim on Broadway...

My support goes out to Local One and all of the stage hands standing out in the cold today. It's been an interesting year for Broadway so far. It's very unfortunate that we now find ourselves in the middle of a strike. We are going on to 4 shows being dark at Spring Awakening. Yes, I am missing Melchior performances. Trust me, that is the least of my worries at this point.

It's not just the audience who's hurting from this terrible situation. Actors, Dressers, Stage Managers, Ushers...the list goes on and on...and we all be out of work until this is resolved. One scary thought for some Broadway shows is that Friday night may have been their last. It also affects all of the business that surrounds Broadway...restaurants, shops...

It's a difficult thing for all of us. Everyone is just praying this is resolved soon.

A message to fans

To Friends, Fans, and Family,

As many of you know I have been harassed online for the past month. This person has used all means of communication to harass me...message boards, myspace...even this blog.

I have cut myself off from it by handing my myspace over to the authorities and a team of private investigators who specialize in Internet harassment. They have continued to receive numerous threatening emails from this person every night.

I recently discovered that a few of my biggest fans were victims of this person's harassment as well.

It is very important that all of you know how aggressive I have been to try and end this situation. The team at Spring Awakening has been very sensitive to the issue. We have the right to bring up some very serious charges against this person once the identity is revealed. Until that time, please know that we are doing everything we can to solve the problem.
